The NHL Lockout is Over
The National Hockey League (NHL) made a deal January 6, 2013 after 113 days. Gary Bettman and Donald Fehr got to the podium to announce the deal. The deal was a 10 year CBA with a 50/50 split venue. Leader's Luck If there is one person who needs more time off it is star Sidney Crosby. Mr. Crosby has had concussions and neck injuries. Many broadcasters and writers had called him a “Young Gretzky”. During the lockout Anze Kopitar, the Los Angeles Kings forward had an injury and missed about a month. Erik Karleson of the Ottawa Senators and their best defense-men had a more than a torn, ripped Achilles and won't be back for the season. Lastly, my favorite player Evegeni Malkin, had a concussion a couple of weeks ago but thankfully will return to the Pittsburgh Penguins roster. Fly Away Fly Away Teams in the Western Conference such as the Minnesota Wild are going to fly about 31,345 miles. The Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks are each going to travel 29,000 miles. The Winnipeg Jets are in the Southeast division so they have to travel several thousand miles. Eager Edmonton? The Oilers have been in the slammer finishing last in their division. Things are going well supposedly for Edmonton. Almost the whole starting lineup but one person is under 23 years of age. Things are now looking good for the Oilers and maybe be released from the slammer. Ready Reds First things first, is Aroldis Chapman really a starting pitcher? March Madness
It's that time of year where it's nice enough to go outside but your eyes are glued to the TV. When you just want to watch college basketball. It's time for March Madness. If you don't know about this huge tournament, March Madness is a big tournament for college basketball. We are in the Sweet Sixteen so far and the remaining teams are: Louisville, Oregon, Kansas, Michigan, Florida, Michigan St., Duke, Florida Gulf, Indiana, Syracuse, Marquette, Miami (FL), Ohio State, LaSalle and Arizona.
