In Head Start, in the basement of Harrison Elementary, the kids are having fun! They have no homework, get to play in activity centers, and learn social skills. Callie Janszen says that its the most fun she has all day. They also have stations that only a certain number of people can be in at a time, so they learn to share and take turns. There are about 12 students in Mrs. Katie's A.M. Class, and about 12 in her P.M. class. Mrs. Katie's class is the only head start class but there are three Head Start teachers. Mrs. Katie, Mrs. Connie, and Mrs. Cathy. In the stations, there are various activities. They can learn science, how to write, how to build, and how to be a veteranarian. In the first semester parents have to go get them from the basement but in the second semester they come upstairs, sit on the bench, and wait for you in the lobby. They cannot leave unless parents sign their name on a paper in the correct row.
